The Solution.

The given function is

[tex]f(x)=x^2-x-56=0[/tex]

Solving quadratically using the factorization method, we get

[tex]f(x)=x^2-8x+7x-56=0[/tex][tex]f(x)=x(x-8)+7(x-8)=0[/tex][tex](x+7)(x-8)=0[/tex][tex]\begin{gathered} x+7=0,\text{ or x -8 =0} \\ x=-7,\text{ or x = 8} \end{gathered}[/tex]

Hence, the zeros of the function are -7 or 8
